Firefox Vs. Internet Explorer Vs. Chrome

December 14, 2008 – 9:40 am
In a Bug Battle, sponsored by uTest, three top-browsers (Internet Explorer 8, Firefox 3.1 beta and Google's Chrome) were tortured by 1,331 uTesters in order to find as many bugs as possible, with $1000 as a reward. The testers found a total of 672 bugs, divided over the three browsers, and 15% of these bugs were classified to be in need of immediate attention. The big question of course is which browser performed best? Looking at the absolute numbers, Internet Explorer 8 was the winner with “only” 168 bugs found, followed by 207 bugs found in Firefox. Why is Firefox so popular?

December 7, 2008 – 1:01 am
Over the last 4 years, firefox is becoming more and more popular, and its market share is increasing by 5% each year over the last 4 years. This is very good news indeed for GNU/Linux users out there. However, the title of the article states that it will be a nightmare for Microsoft, especially since the sales of GNU/Linux on netbooks and notebooks already start to have an impact on the sales and profit of Windows. It is very difficult to foresee the exact consequences of actions like these, but I doubt if Microsoft is really having ...

Is Linux ready for you?

November 15, 2008 – 12:57 pm
Many people would like to change their computer, but are afraid of Vista and/or don't have the money to buy expensive computers with Vista. On the other hand MAC's are quite expensive compared to PC's, and therefore are not a valid alternative for many of us. Then there is this Linux, that is hard to use and hard to install and you need to use the command line all the time and no drivers are available for my hardware. But wait a minute. Is it really that difficult to install? Is it that difficult to use? Do you really need to ...
